Sunil Kar is a Technology business executive with 20+ years of broad operational leadership experience in the semiconductor industry with specialization in Wireless, Wired, and Enterprise Communication technologies.
He was previously employed at Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDTI) from Oct 2016 to Mar 2018 as GM, Interconnect Solutions. He initiated and led the acquisition by IDT of GigPeak (NYSE: GIG) to expand into optical interconnect and video transport markets. At IDT, he also led the development of 5G/mmWave products. Prior to that, Sunil was employed as the Vice President of Wireless Business at Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) from 2011 to 2016, where he grew the wireless revenue to over $500M per year (25% growth over 3 year period).
He is well versed with hands-on experience in FPGAs, Multicore Processors, SoCs, Analog Mixed Signal, and Custom Silicon products. In the last 5 years, he has led strategic growth initiatives in emerging applications such as 5G, Millimeter Wave, Optical Interconnect, Cloud RAN, SDN/NFV, and Edge Computing. He has done substantial due diligence for M&A, strategic investments, and corporate partnerships. Previously, he was employed at NetLogic (Nasdaq: NETL)(Acquired by Broadcom), where he led the strategic marketing for the multicore processor business. He has also worked for NEC Mobile Networks in Japan and advised NEC management on growth opportunities outside of Japan. Sunil started his career as an engineer at Analog Devices (Nasdaq: ADI).
Sunil graduated from National Institute of Technology (Rourkela) in India and obtained his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
