Gil Frostig is a veteran High-Tech Executive. Gil has 35 years with GM experience and R&D leadership in the semiconductor industry in areas such as Wireless and Wired Networking solutions, Low-power SoCs for IoT, Smartphones, and various PC platforms. Currently Gil's focus is growing and advancing startup companies as a Board Member, Advisor and Angel Investor. Prior to that Gil was a VP R&D at Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) from 2013 to 2018 where he lead the development of WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC technologies. In the WiFi area Qualcomm captured the #1 position in Client and in Access Points in the Enterprise and Retail markets during Gil's tenure. From 1983 to 2013 Gil grew through the ranks at Intel Corp. (INTC). His career there included leading the development of various LAN technologies and partnering to grow the related businesses such as Ethernet (Client and Server), DSL, Cable and more. Gil started WiFi for Intel and delivered the first solution for Intel's Centrino platform, which started the global WiFi market. Gil led the development of Atom based SoCs and a series of special purpose processors such as ISP, Networking, Storage and more. During the career at Intel Gil led several M&A's and managed organizations of upto 2,000 engineers around the world.
He graduated from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering.
